Marianne & Justin Bakewicz, Bakewicz Farms

We are proud to award our Chamber's highest honor, 2020 Business of the Year, along with our nomination & endorsement for 2020 Brookhaven Coalition of Chamber's of Commerce Chamber Member of the Year to Marianne & Justin Bakewicz of Bakewicz Farms.

The Bakewicz Family is well known on the North Shore and Eastern Long Island. They are from a long line of agricultural pioneers. Marianne and her son Justin, both Rocky Point natives, own an 11 acre farm along Route 25a in Wading River that serves our community everything from fresh vegetables and pies to flowers and trees. They rescue farm animals including cows, pigs and goats and often find themselves in the news with groups like Strong Island Rescue saving a deer or two. Bakewicz Farms offers kids barrel train and hay wagon rides, life sized cows and other characters to play on, a corn maze with themed scavenger hunts filled with trivia. There is something for everyone at this farm. This mother son duo continuously support our chamber and our Rocky Point & Sound Beach communities with fervor and without hesitation. Its in their blood! They are farmers. From offering & providing hay rides at our Fall Festival, a petting zoo at our Spring Festival, spending significant hours hedging, trimming, weeding, limbing up trees, mowing, leaf blowing assisting our Chamber in its newly acquired financial stewardship of Veterans Memorial Park in Rocky Point, to taking on the responsibility of maintaining the Rocky Point Tree (Depot Park) for the lighting ceremony and many times Justin even finds himself engineering the electric for the lighting! From supporting our VFW in Rocky Point and other Chamber members, to the regular support Justin and Marianne offer our executive board and Civics organizations in our area, it is with great honor and privilege to award Marianne & Justin Bakewicz of Bakewicz Farms 2020 RPSB Business of the Year and nominate them for 2020 BCCC Chamber Member of the Year in both their family farming business operations and as community leaders.
